Cellist, Hampus Linderholm was born in 1977 and grew up in an artistic home in Waxholm, Sweden. In 1994, Hampus started his studies with Kerstin Thuresson and in 1997 he was admitted to the School of Music and Music Education, Göteborg University, to study with Prof. Mats Rondin. In 2000 Hampus became a student in Cologne by Frans Helmerson, where he graduated 2005.
In 1998 Hampus was the prize-winner in the Stavanger Competition at the International Summer Academy sponsored by Statoil. The prize was given by Truls Mørk. Hampus has been awarded scholarships from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm (KMA).
Since the debut as a soloist year 2000 Hampus has performed with many of the leading orchestras.
He regularly gives recitals and solo concerts in Scandinavia, Germany, The Netherlands (Concertgebau) France, England, Kroatia, South Korea and New Zealand. In March 2000, Hampus made his debut concert with Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto conducted by Sun-Young Lee in Sweden. Hampus has performed chamber music at major festivals e.g. Verbier 2002, Schwetzingen Festspiele and Kronberg Cello Festival 2003, Polar Prize 2004, and Seiji Ozawas chambermusic festival in Blonay 2005.
